Carmella's special interests include poetry, gardening, and journaling. She is attending PCC majoring in Business Administration.  She will transfer to CSULA with the ultimate goal of a master's degree in Business Administration.  She then wants to open and manage her construction company.

Ashley's special interests include cross country, track and field, and associate Student Body.  She is also a member of the Black Student Union (BSU), and completed an Internship at the Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena. Ashley will attend Cal Poly Pomona and major in Engineering.

Our goal is to investigate the needs of the community and pursue measures to alleviate those needs.  We do this through our own organization and through interaction with other community groups.

Tangila's special interests consist of decorating and coordinating events such as weddings, baby showers, and birthday parties.  She is attending PCC and majoring in Radio Technology.

Malik's special interests include reading, sports, exploring and tutoring at his church. Malik was a Renaissance Rally Scholar and a member of the Black Student Union (BSU).  He volunteered at the Rose Program in the summer of 2012; and, worked at the Harambee Ministry in the summer of 2013. He will attend Dixie State University in Saint George, Utah and major in Business.

Faith's special interests include singing, dancing, and cooking. She has numerous volunteer hours as an apprentice in the Blair ROP Culinary Arts. She also participated in the FHA-HERO Competition, and holds a bronze metal in track and field. Faith will attend CSULA and major in Social Work.

Women In Action is committed to an informed membership, which consistently works to improve and enhance the living conditions in the Pasadena/Altadena, CA areas for all residents, while focusing its efforts on the specific needs of African-American citizens in our communities.

Brenden's special interests include varsity track & field, being Drama Club President, and ASB Vice President. for the class of 2014. Brenden was a Link Crew member; and participated in the Rotary Youth Leader Awards (RYLA) program. He will attend a 4-year university and major in mechanical engineering and minor in theater arts.

Women In Action was founded in 1971 by  group of African-American women who saw the need for an organization that would work toward stimulating citizen participation, increase community awareness, and make minority representation in government a reality.
